The initiative is recent but it is part of the missions of media libraries: namely to facilitate access to culture by desecrating places. At the initiative of the Local Mission, young people were able to visit the Puzzle cultural and digital space in Thionville. Thursday, October 19, those who volunteered were invited to familiarize themselves with literary genres. Fifteen of them made the trip, mainly young men, aged under 25. “Most are immigrants, others have suffered failure or are sometimes out of school,” emphasizes Malika, who accompanies them. It is essential to give them a taste for reading and language. To show them that they are welcome here. »

Places for everyone
Guided by Sandra, who was recruited as part of the disability and vulnerable public mission, and Virna, an employee of Puzzle, the young people were able to leaf through the works but also find out more about artists’ books. “In November, we will offer them a raku poetry workshop with an author,” emphasizes Sandra. We want to go further, by integrating the Easy to read concept. »
