Ian Rush, the English legend of Liverpool and his historical goalscorer of all time, revealed that he is constantly talking with the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, who he sees as getting rid of his “selfishness”, indicating that the latter only thinks of breaking his numbers.
Rush tops the list of Liverpool’s top scorers throughout history with 346 goals, while Salah ranks fifth after scoring 186 goals.
Rush said in statements reported by the newspaper “Liverpool Echo” on Monday: Salah asks me every day: Why did (Rush) score so many goals? He believes that he can break my record, and he may do so if he stays in Liverpool for more seasons, but on the other hand, Mohamed has made a lot of goals in the past two seasons, and he has become playing on the side more.
And he continued: Salah has become a team player more than before, two years ago he was a bit selfish, but he changed and became thinking about the team more and providing assists more than he currently scores.
He concluded: I would be happy if Salah could break my record as long as he records the joy of Liverpool fans and helps the team achieve championships.
