Against Denmark, midfielder Keira Walsh also broke down. She had to be carried out on a stretcher after twisting her knee. She was later able to join the bench, hopping on crutches.
The Barcelona player is one of the team’s biggest stars. Last summer, she was bought by Barcelona from Manchester City for SEK 4.3 million.

The “Lionesses” took the lead early in the match when Chelsea’s Lauren James found the net with a long shot.

Denmark came close to a late equalizer when Amalie Vangsgaard raced forward and headed home the post in the 87th minute.
But England – with last season’s WSL goalscoring queen Rachel Daly at left-back – held on to win 1-0.
Tops the group
– We had that terrible thing with Keira, and after that the second half was a battle where we had to fight to adapt and win. I am very proud of the team, says England captain Sarina Wiegman.
The reigning European champions sit on six points after two group stage rounds, and face China in the final round.
Denmark still has a chance to advance. They are on three points and face Haiti in their last match in the group.
