England U-17 National Team Announces Squad for 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia

England U-17 national team released the cast list for 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. Premier League’s youngest debutant, Ethan Nwaneribecame the mainstay of Three Lions.

England U-17 has announced the list of names of players who will compete in the U-17 World Cup taking place in Indonesia via the website. Coach Ryan Garry called out the names of 21 players who will compete in this event.

The Young Lions are strengthened by many players belonging to Premier League clubs. Chelsea contributed the most players with five players. Meanwhile, Man City sent four players.

England will rely on Arsenal player, Ethan Nwaneri, as the motor of attack. Nwaneri is a standout in the age group having scored eight goals in 17 appearances with England.

He has also experienced appearing with Arsenal’s first team in the Premier League. He did so when he appeared as a substitute against Brentford last season. This made him the youngest debutant in the Premier League at the age of 15 years 181 days.

England will be in Group C with New Caledonia, Iran and Brazil. They will play all matches in the group stage at the Jakarta International Stadium.

England’s best achievement in this event was becoming champion in the 2017 edition. At that time, the Young Lions were led by Phil Foden.
