England Women’s National Team player Georgia Stanway is having an insecure time at her home in Barrow in the county of Cumbria. The attacker was the victim of an attempted burglary by a group of gangs who wanted to rob her house while she was in the middle of a match against Sweden.

According to The Sun, there were three thieves who came to rob Georgia Stanway’s house. Two people remained in the vehicle surveying the surroundings while the third burst inside thinking the house was empty. Meanwhile, the player was with the national team for the game against Sweden for the Women’s Euro semi-finals. Inside the house was the attacker’s father, Paul Stanley, who interrupted the thieves’ plan and then alerted those around him. After the frightening scene, the 56-year-old man confided in the media.

“Bittersweet day. As we prepared for the semi-finals of the Euros, we were devastated to learn that our house was being targeted by thieves who expected us all to be missing. Luckily they were thwarted by a family member who couldn’t make it to the game,” he said, urging neighbors to be vigilant. “Just a little warning to people. Be careful when posting your moves as there are sure to be scumbags in Barrow. Lock your doors, watch your neighbor’s property, stay safe”.

Eventually, Georgia Stanway won their match against Sweden. The Lionesses beat the Swedish 4-0 and snatch their ticket for the final which will take place on Sunday July 31, 2022 against Germany. Recall that the 23-year-old number 10 is a former Manchester City player. She scored 67 goals in 186 appearances for the Citizens. Shortly before the Euros, she signed for German club Bayern Munich on a three-year contract.
