It is an experimental device that is set to last. Since the start of the 2022 school year, the Créteil academy has established the principle of engaged classes in Seine-et-Marne. “The objective is to promote educational projects in several themes: health, solidarity, culture, memory, citizenship, education, defence, security, sport and the environment, explains we at the office of the Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education (DSDEN) of 77. For the moment, we have 35 active classes but we will be at 54 at the start of the 2023 school year.
Friday, an agreement between the academy of Créteil, the city of Moissy-Cramayel and the elementary school Fosse Cornue must thus be signed. The educational project will bring together students of various levels. “The city thus undertakes to welcome students to the town hall to explain the workings of democracy and to integrate them into the framework of the commemoration ceremonies,” says the town hall. The Moisséenne school will work, from next September until 2026, around themes related to the public interest, altruism or living together. »
The system mainly concerns colleges
Moissy-Cramayel will be one of the first two towns to have an engaged elementary class with Chaintreaux, which will work on the theme of memory. “Mostly, it is colleges that are concerned, as well as a dozen high schools”, we specify at the academy inspection. And to cite a few examples such as this class of all levels from the Becquerel de Nangis high school which works on safety with the firefighters of Seine-et-Marne or that of the Rostang college in Bray-sur-Seine in connection with health.
Among the other institutions that are already taking part in the experiment is also the National School of Police (ENSP) in Cannes-Ecluse. Work has been carried out since the start of the school year in September with a third-grade class from the Elsa-Triolet college in Varennes-sur-Seine. The students of this first promotion, baptized according to their wish “Charles de Gaulle”, were able to discover throughout the year the jobs of the national police.
A policeman first went to the college, then they had the chance to discover the secrets of the Technical and Scientific Police, thanks to an immersion visit to the ENSP. The college students were also able to attend the ceremony for the 27th promotion of officers last February, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior and take advantage of a guided tour of the premises at the end of March.
And if you also want to put yourself in the shoes of a policeman, know that the school is opening its doors to the public this Saturday. Demining, equestrian brigade and canines, drones, scientific and technical police, arrest and handcuffing techniques, etc., meet between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 49, rue Chaude in Cannes-Écluse.
