Microsoft has recentlyBlogIt revealed to users that the improved new version of Teams can run twice as fast as in the past. Operations such as launching programs and joining video calls take half the time, scrolling within apps is smoother, and software uses 50% less memory. In addition, the redesigned interface also reduces the number of clicks required to manage notifications, search for messages, organize channels, and more. A stronger authentication, synchronization and notification system will also be added to the app, making it easier to switch between different accounts and tenants.
As previously announced, the new version of Teams also supports AI features such as smart review and Copilot, and more features will continue to be added in the future. “We will use AI to reduce workload by helping you understand what happened before joining a meeting or conversation, or answering questions during a discussion,” Microsoft wrote. A public preview of the new Teams is available today on Windows, with both a Mac preview and an official release expected later this year. However, in the blog, Microsoft did not mention the 3D avatar that has been tested for a long time. They have previously stated that these new images should be enabled in May, and it is estimated that it will become part of the official version of the new Teams.
