Libreville, June 6, 2023 (AGP) – The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Olivier Abel Nang Ekomiye received this Tuesday, the water supply and electrification works of the project “Work One» of Nkok, in the 2nd arrondissement of the municipality of Ntoum, in accordance with the program of 3,808 housing units initiated by the State.
After receiving the first phase of the Accelerated Home Ownership Program (PAAP 1) last week, and the official launch of PAAP 2, the Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Olivier Abel Nang Ekomiye received the water and electricity distribution works of the subdivision of 295 houses and 162 bare plots, as part of the “Work One» from Nkok.
For the member of the government, this action is part of the will of the Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba, to ensure the well-being of the populations. It also follows the instruction of the Prime Minister, Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nzé, to have concrete solutions to the expectations of the populations.
On the ground, the boss of the Housing Department has noted that the site has an excess of energy capacity, because there are no inhabitants yet. He therefore appealed to the reservers to come and occupy the site so that the SEEG devices do not run idle and cause problems. “It is a site where each house has a land title, water supply and electricity.“, he recalled.
For the director general of the SNI, Herman Kamonomono, at the end of the first phase of the work which consisted in making this city habitable, the company intends to move on to the 2nd phase which, according to him, consists in working in agreement with the reserving parties to that they begin to gradually integrate housing, so that the Nkok site becomes a good place to live.
According to the technicians, the works of all the existing drinking water pipes have been rehabilitated by their hydraulic installation and connections, which now comply with standards.
With regard to the electricity component, in addition to the compliance of connections, 5 MV/LV substations including 1 with a capacity of 250 KVA and 2 transformers with a nominal power of 630 KVA have been built on the site.
