Energy costs raise inflation in Baja California – El Sol de Tijuana

Tijuana.- In the inflation levels reported in Baja California, the rise in the cost of energy is already reflected, such as LP Gas and gasoline, said the treasurer of the National College of Economists, Domingo Ramos Medina.

According to the latest report from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), Baja California was located next to Zacatecas and Coahuila, with the highest monthly variation in prices. In the case of domestic gas, this increased 4.05%, while gasoline more than 3.67.

“The latest report of Inegi inflation, appeared LP gas and gasoline with the highest increases and this creates a multiplier effect in other products and services, since the value chain in the production and mobilization of goods, consumes these two energy sources ”, Explained Ramos Medina.

The specialist remarked that the more gasoline prices rise, the more the prices of goods and services, which are offered in the state, will increase.

The economist added that Baja California’s geographical position plays an additional disadvantage for the entity, since a large part of the products consumed locally are brought from within the Republic, which increases their value even more.

“Because those who come from the south move them long distances and raise costs, as they depend on fuel. But also the locals, because they move goods locally and it also influences the prices they offer ”, he pointed out.

Finally, he said that we will have to wait how energy prices behave in the coming weeks, to know how much more inflationary levels are climbing.
