The Brazilians Endrick, future Real Madrid player, and Vitor Roque, in the ranks of FC Barcelona, are the “most promising” forwards in the world, according to a study released by the Football Observatory of the International Center for Sports Studies.
At 17 years old, the Palmeiras striker heads a list in which Vitor Roque and the Irishman Evan Ferguson, from English Brighton, appear in second and third position in the classification, respectively.
Completing the top ten places are the Chilean Damián Pizarro (Colo Colo), the Argentine Jerónimo Dómina (Unión Santa Fe), the Serbian Milos Lukovic (FK IMT), the Franco-Nigerian George Ilenikhena (Real Antwerp), the Slovenian Benjamin Sesko (Leipzig ), the Argentine Santiago Castro (Bologna) and the Brazilian Marcos Leonardo (Benfica).
Endrick, a fundamental piece in achieving the 2023 Brazilian Championship for Palmeiras, plans to head to Real Madrid in July of this year, when he will reach the age of majority.
«The study reinforces how important it is for today’s young people to pay attention to what they do in each of the hundred minutes of play, whether they are the two in which they have the ball or the 98 in which they do not have it. That is one of Endrick’s differentials,” said Thiago Freitas, director of operations at Roc Nation Sports Brazil, the agency that manages the forward’s career.
Vitor Roque has just turned 19 years old and arrived at Barcelona last January, after shining at Athletico Paranaense and Cruzeiro.
However, ‘Tigrinho’ is having a hard time getting minutes in the team led by Xavi Hernández, who for the moment prefers to keep the Polish Robert Lewandowski at the top of the attack and play more with the youth squad Marc Guiu.
The Football Observatory study analyzed the performance of young people during the last year, as well as the number of games played with their clubs, their ages and the level of demand of the competitions they played. EFE
