Endesa cannot “specify” the causes of energy zero in Tenerife | Radio Club Tenerife

Endesa and Red Eléctrica have already begun the tasks of replenishing the electricity supply on the island of Tenerife after the energy zero produced shortly before 09.50 hours, they report from the 112 Canarias.

All the stations on the island already have power and some areas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna, Candelaria and Güímar already have supply, around more than 10% of the company’s customers – about 68,000 -.

Endesa insists that the cause of the general blackout is unknown and they acknowledge that the recovery of the electricity supply to 100% may take several hours.

The island already suffered an energy zero on September 29 that lasted for about nine hours, which led the Canary Islands Government to propose a fine of almost 30 million to Red Eléctrica and another 10 million to Endesa.
