The US advises “reconsider traveling” to China due to its restrictions against COVID-19
The United States has advised its citizens to “reconsider traveling” to China due to “restrictions related to COVID-19” after the confinement of entire cities and strong measures have been implemented that limit mobility.
The State Department has reported through a statement that the travel alert has gone from level 2, which the US uses to ask its citizens to “pay more attention”, to level 3, intended for situations of greater risk.
“You should not travel to Hong Kong (…) or to the Shanghai municipality due to restrictions related to COVID-19, including the risk of separation of parents and children”point to the text.
Specifically, it explains that the “zero tolerance” regarding the coronavirus from the governments of China and Hong Kong “severely impacts travel and access to public services”.
Anyone who arrives in the country, points, must go through a minimum quarantine of 14 daysduring which visitors they cannot leave their rooms and they have to be tested daily for COVID-19.
If they test positive, they are transferred to government medical facilities where “Standards of care, accommodation, testing, or treatment may differ considerably from US standards”.
