BROOKLYN, KOMPAS.com – MSCHF Studio that makes “Satan’s Shoes“collaborate with rapper Lil Nas X, have resolved the dispute with Nike for trademark infringement cases.
The artist group in Brooklyn, United States, issued a voluntary withdrawal announcement for their product “Satan’s Shoes” that they had released.
A total of 666 pairs of “Devil Shoes” which is a modification of the Nike Air Max 97 were released to the market at the end of March.

In e-mail on Friday (9/4/2021), MSCHF offered a full refund (refund) of the original price plus shipping, to customers who buy “Satan’s Shoes” or “Shoes of Jesus“.
Prior to releasing “Satan’s Shoe” which contains a drop of human blood, MSCHF made “Jesus Shoes” with soles filled with holy water.
For “Satan’s Shoes”, each pair sells for US $ 1,018 (Rp. 14.7 million).
The price of 1,018 US dollars refers to the Bible verse of Luke 10:18 which reads, “So He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.’

“We have agreed to settle the lawsuit,” he said e-mail MSCHF quoted AFP.
“As part of the settlement, Nike has asked us, and we have agreed to initiate a recall to remove Satan’s Shoes and Jesus Shoes from circulation.”
“This is a voluntary withdrawal: you have the absolute right to choose whether to return your Shoes of Satan or your Shoes of Jesus.”
“Satan’s Shoes” immediately sold out when it was released late last month.
The product sparked controversy, especially from those who criticized the video nasty rapper Lil Nas X in the song Montero (Call Me By Your Name), whose launch is related to “Satan’s Shoe”.

Nike in a lawsuit in US federal court said the product triggered calls to boycott them from offended consumers.
Nike customers think the “Devil’s Shoes” is their product because of the signature tick logo.
However, details of the dispute settlement following the recall of “Devil’s Shoes” were not revealed to the public.
“The parties are happy to forget about this dispute,” a Nike spokesman said in a statement.
