A self-fertile vegetable bin to grow vegetables at home (even in an apartment)

It’s not easy to grow herbs and vegetables in an apartment, especially when you’re new to gardening and you don’t really have a green thumb. Hence the idea of an entrepreneur from the Basque Country to design turnkey mini planters, which you can leave in your kitchen or on your balcony. These wooden bins have the particularity of being self-fertile, with vermicompsteurs: “We can put our kitchen peelings and I provide compost worms. They will degrade these peelings, walk inside the bin and will fertilize the soil. soil with excrement “, explains Nicolas Senié, the head of the start-up BioclimaKit. Presented like this, it does not seem very attractive. But these pretty planters have the advantage of being very easy to use. The kit is composed of a draining layer, a vermicomposter and of course plans to grow. Everything is designed to be environmentally friendly. The containers are made of wood and the planters require little water thanks to a reserve. Watering every 15 days is sufficient. Nothing has been left to chance to allow newbies to get started in green gardening. Bioclimatic greenhouses These miniature gardens are just the beginning. This entrepreneur passionate about gardening wants to go even further by offering bioclimatic greenhouses, also sold as a kit. But enough money remains to be found to develop this new project. Crowdfunding was therefore launched. These ideas of greenhouses and self-fertile vegetable containers are more fashionable than ever, especially since with successive confinements, the French have rediscovered the joys of gardening.
