National Awakening Party (PKB) continues to encourage the Ketum PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin to become a companion to the Ketum Gerindra Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. PKB deputy chairman Jazilul Fawaid said his party would prepare options if Gus Imin was not proposed to by Prabowo.
“It will depend on the Kiai later, after Gus Muhaimin is deemed to have failed to build cooperation with Gerindra to place himself or Gus Muhaimin’s conference aspirations as vice president or president,” said Jazilul at the DPR Complex, Senayan, Wednesday (23/8/2023).
“Return its mandate to the party, later the party will discuss its options again. What are the options? What is clear is what Roma Irama said ‘many roads lead to Rome’,” he continued.
Jazilul said PKB would look for the next option if he did not become Prabowo’s partner. Kiai, said Jazilul, continue to monitor and prepare options for their party.
“If Pak Muhaimin doesn’t succeed in getting on the ballot paper for the presidential election with Gerindra or with coalition partners, I’ll tell the party what the next steps are, what are the next options, for sure. These kiai are currently monitoring and preparing options,” he said.
When asked whether the option was related to pairing Gus Imin with another presidential candidate, Jazilul was reluctant to elaborate. “Yes, not yet there,” he added.
