Sixty ENAPO stores in the Zlín region are threatened with major problems and some may even end. Their operator, ROSA market, is in bankruptcy.
The company ROSA market has filed an insolvency petition against itself. It is unable to repay its debts, which currently amount to more than 430 million crowns. According to the company, the main reason for the problems is an increase in energy prices, rising employee costs or a change in customer behavior after the covid pandemic. The company therefore wants to offer part of the stores for rent or sell unnecessary assets.
Her fate will be decided by creditors, the review of receivables is planned for mid-November. The representatives of the ROSA market company did not want to comment on the whole situation yet. However, the company has already informed the employees in a letter about the state of its finances. However, the decision to cancel the branches has not yet been made.
The cancellation of ENAPO stores would mainly affect the citizens of smaller municipalities that do not have another grocery store. This applies, for example, to the village of Žlutava in the Zlín region or Kostelan in the Kroměříž region.
As confirmed not only by the independent mayor of Kostelan in the Kroměříž region, Jan Petřík, but also by the employees of some stores, there have been problems with deliveries to the ENAPO network for a long time. It concerns, for example, baked goods, cosmetics, and it was also decided to cancel the sale of newspapers.
Specifically, in Kostelany, the municipality rents the premises of the store and does not observe any shortfalls in rent payments. Since there is no other grocery store in the village, the municipality wants to negotiate with the company about a possible takeover of the store. However, they do not yet have any more specific information from the company’s executive.
