Empty chairs draw attention to the situation in the catering trade

GMUNDEN. With a striking campaign, restaurateurs, hoteliers, breweries, suppliers and event organizers want to draw attention to their current precarious situation: As in numerous German cities, but also in New York and Athens, on Friday, February 26th, on the Town Hall Square of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. empty chairs set up – one for each participating company.

The campaign was organized and agreed with the city officials by Laura Klier, managing director of Hotel Esplanade GmbH: “We would like to unlock the door again and serve our guests – of course with due distance and protection of the population. Our biggest problem, however, is the uncertainty of how things will continue, ”she explains, explaining the background to the“ Empty chairs ”campaign.
