For many young girls, accepting themselves with their imperfections is a challenge, especially when they are confronted daily with images of seemingly perfect women from magazines and social media. However, these inspiring women prove to us that it is not necessary to have model proportions to become role models for others.

Toccara Jones

Toccara Elaine Jones gained public attention through a pageant America is looking for a top model, where she became the first slim finalist. She billed herself as the first black curvy supermodel to grace the front pages of fashion magazines.

During the competition, she excelled, showed great photos and won over not only the jury, but also the audience with her lively charisma and sexy full figure. After the competition ended, she became a part of the modeling agency Wilhelmina Models and actually appeared on the covers of various magazines, including Bee, The Next Level Magazine and Ebody.

When photographer Steven Meisel photographed her for the Italian edition of Vogue, the issue became one of the best-selling in the magazine’s history.

Her personal story now serves as an inspiration to spread the message that beauty and success don’t stop at a size 36.

Chloe moved to New York where she modeled and worked on various campaigns for Project Runway, Macy’s and Torrid, a brand specializing in plus size clothing.

Alva Claire

Thanks to her exceptional exotic beauty, she entered the world of modeling agencies at the age of eighteen. Like many other models, Alva had to wait for her discovery. A key moment for her was her participation in the Fenty show, where she started as a backstage stylist.

However, her superiors soon noticed her potential and asked her to become a model. Since then, she regularly appears in fashion magazines, shows and advertising campaigns, and brands show interest in her.

Kate Dillon Levin

Kate Dillon started modeling at an early age, but unlike the other girls featured here, she started out as a traditional model with perfect measurements. In interviews, she revealed that maintaining a slim figure was a huge effort for her and genetics did not favor her.

She was forced to follow an extreme diet, often eating only vegetables and one apple a day, which eventually led to her exhaustion and collapse. Later, however, she discovered the world of plus size modeling and got the opportunity to work for the Gucci brand.

She is also exceptionally well-educated, with two bachelor’s degrees in political science and international relations and a master’s degree in international development from Harvard University.
