Empoli completes deal for Chelsea’s Anjorin
In fact, according to reports from Gianluca DiMarziothe deal is almost done with the West Londoners. Empoli will sign Anjorin on a permanent transfer.
While the specific transfer fee has not yet been disclosed, it is understood that Chelsea will retain a 50 per cent sell-on clause for the 22-year-old. The intervention of Emopli sporting director Roberto Gemmi is understood to have been key in getting the deal done.
Anjorin has only one Premier League appearance to his name for Chelsea, but has made a hugely positive impression playing football in Premier League 2, England’s elite youth development league. There, he has scored eight goals in 11 appearances.
He has also gained experience at senior level in recent seasons, having spent time on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow in 2021-22, Huddersfield Town in the Championship in 2022-23 and League One champions Portsmouth in 2023-24.
