Employers should take out insurance for close relatives of non-Saudi workers saudi

Riyadh: Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) spokesman Othman al-Qasabi has said that it is not the employer’s responsibility to provide compulsory health insurance to parents and siblings of non-Saudi employees. “Foreign workers in Saudi Arabia are required to arrange health insurance for their parents, brothers and sisters who come to the country under their sponsorship at their own expense,” said Othman al-Qasabi, citing provisions in the Cooperative Health Insurance Act.

In a narcissistic interview with the Othman Al Qasabi Al-Aqbariya channel, he said that the Health Cooperative Insurance Act mandates that private sector employers provide health insurance to all their Saudi and non-Saudi employees and their families. Under the provision, family members include spouses, sons up to 25 years of age, unmarried and unemployed daughters. But Othman al-Qasabi said parents, brothers and sisters need to arrange health insurance at their own expense.
