Employers are going to hire rather than lay off, according to a Manpower survey – ČT24 – Czech Television

13 percent of employers expect an increase in the number of employees, five percent predict a decrease. A total of 79 percent of companies contacted said they were not planning a change during the second quarter. The net labor market index is thus plus eight percent. In the previous quarter, it was minus one percent.

“Companies in all sectors except accommodation and catering plan to hire new employees as the epidemic subsides. The sectors that employ the largest number of employees, such as manufacturing, services, construction and the public sector, are most optimistic. But the question is how long the light at the end of the tunnel will move away, “said Jaroslava Rezlerová, CEO of ManpowerGroup CR and Slovakia.

There are vacancies, interest is small

Despite the current uncertainty, according to Rezler, the company is not able to fill a number of jobs. One third of all vacancies on the market, ie up to 107,000, are machine operators in production. These positions are now very difficult to fill. People from gastronomy and services are not interested in working in production, recruiting from abroad is also problematic.
