Employers and unions are reluctant to talk about an agreement and even a pre-agreement
CEOE has convened its Board of Directors at 12:00 p.m.
Just a year ago the negotiations on a framework agreement for wage increases broke down
CEOE and UGT meet their management bodies this Monday and CCOO will do so tomorrow with the aim of addressing the wage agreement. Specific, CEOE has convened its Executive Committee and its Board of Directors at 12:00, while UGT is holding a meeting of its Executive Commission. In the case of CCOO, it has summoned its Confederal Committee for this Tuesday.
Employers and unions are reluctant to speak of an agreement or even a pre-agreement and prefer to wait for what happens in their respective management bodies, but there are those who take it for granted.
Thus, not only the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, spoke in agreement last Friday in light of the press information. Just today, the president of ATA and vice president of the CEOE, Lorenzo Amor, celebrated the “good agreement for the country” reached between unions and employers to raise the wages of workers.
Speaking to Europa Press, Lorenzo Amor, before entering an event organized by the Seville Chamber of Commerce, Amor pointed out this Monday that this “responsible” agreement will generate “stability” and “social peace” between the self-employed, companies and workers.
“It is an agreement that, while the Government was insulting, belittling and demonizing the business fabric, we were negotiating,” said Amor, who has denied that the businessmen were “blocking the wage agreement.”
Employers and unions met last Friday to finalize what will be the V Interconfederal Agreement for Employment and Collective Bargaining (AENC), but they left fringes pending and opened the door to negotiate over the weekend.
The AENC is a text in which unions and employers collect recommendations for their negotiators of collective agreements, in which they usually include both a salary path, as well as other matters related to employment, for example questions related to recruitment. It is not mandatory, but it serves as a guide for both parties when they sit down to negotiate a collective agreement.
