Employer Fined 10,000 Lei for Exceeding Duration of Working Time: Municipality of Târgu Jiu

An employer from the Municipality of Târgu Jiu was fined 10,000 lei for exceeding the duration of working time established in the individual part-time employment contract.

The person detected by the labor inspectors was performing work specific to the job of a waiter.

“We draw the attention of all employers to the fact that, according to the provisions of Law number 53/2003, the Labor Code, the hiring of one or more employees exceeding the duration of the working time established in the individual part-time employment contracts, is sanctioned with fine from 10,000 lei to 15,000 lei for each person thus identified”, George Octavian Romanescu, chief inspector of the Gorj Territorial Labor Inspectorate, told gds.ro.
