A supermarket on the Sierplein in Slotervaart was robbed this evening. Employees of the supermarket were threatened with a stabbing weapon. The police have now arrested three suspects, but it is still unclear whether they were also involved in the robbery.
The two robbers, both wearing balaclavas, entered the property just before 10 p.m. At that time, the supermarket was about to close.
According to a police spokesman, the robbers were disturbed in their attempt, after which they fled the store headlong. The police suspect that they ran to the parking lot behind the square.
Three police cars driving from different directions in the direction of Sierplein then searched for the robbers. This resulted in three arrests. According to the spokesman, it is not yet possible to determine whether they have anything to do with the robbery.
