Merzig Successful premiere: The blood donation campaign, which was carried out for the first time among the employees of the SHG Clinic in Merzig, was an immediate success. Around 50 of them spontaneously donated blood as part of their shift.
Administrative director Michael Zimmer also took part and was personally bled by team leader Elke Rudolph. “Even in times of Corona, blood reserves are urgently needed in the hospitals and in the rescue service,” explained the senior anesthesiologist in charge, Detlef-Nikolaus Hans, who is also the doctor responsible for the transfusion and head of the clinic’s blood depot. “That is why we are grateful for every single blood donation,” said Christoph Ernwein from the DRK blood donation service in Bad Kreuznach.
