According to the investigation, the 29-year-old employee of the SIZO organized drug distribution channels on the territory of the institution and provided cover for this activity.
The group consisted of at least four employees of the remand prison. They kept drugs in their rooms and closets for later distribution. They were detained while selling another batch of drugs.
The suspects are charged with Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (storage, transportation, transfer and sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances, committed by an organized group). The sanction of the article is imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
In 2020, indictments were sent to the court against 48 employees of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, the SBR reported.
For five months of 2021, investigators of the RRB reported suspicion to 35 persons and sent indictments against 43 employees of the GUIS to the court.
