Port-Gentil, December 21, 2023 (AGP) – Employees of the security company “Omega» began a few days ago, a strike movement in Port-Gentil, provincial capital of Ogooué-Maritime, noted a local AGP correspondent.
The lack of responsiveness of those responsible for the security company “ Omega“, following a strike notice placed on their table two weeks ago, led the employees of this company to intensify their movement.
Several demands appear in the specifications submitted to their hierarchy, in particular the housing bonus, recognition of seniority and many others.
“A security officer who monitors oil installations should not be treated the same way as one who monitors a market“, one of the agents was indignant.
Moïse Madola Bokamba, member of the Gabonese Confederation of Free Force Labor (CGTFL), insisted on compliance with article 4 of the labor code by company officials.
According to him, the strike was temporarily suspended after a meeting with the labor inspector, who took charge of the case. “We are now waiting for the opening of new frank negotiations aimed at improving the social conditions of employees from 2024,” he hopes.
