The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the economic situation of companies. Since the beginning of the year, the number of those at risk of bankruptcy has increased significantly.
According to an analysis by the consulting company Dun & Bradstreet, in the first five months of this year, the number of companies at risk increased by 11,166. This is a third more than in the same period of 2020. In addition, some sectors are affected fatally.
The number of companies at risk is accelerating
Dun & Bradstreet has included in the category of endangered companies those companies that have initiated bankruptcy or restructuring proceedings, are in temporary protection, in liquidation, etc.
In the whole of last year, more than 22,000 companies and their more than 62,000 employees could be among those at risk, who could lose their jobs.

Compared to 2019, this was an increase of 16% for companies and a fifth for employees. By May, another 11,166 endangered companies had been added, which represents a year-on-year increase of 31% and 39% compared to the pre-crisis year of 2019.
