An employee of the French railway company SNCF has died after drinking an unknown liquid. That liquid had been left behind at the station in Saint-Étienne. The man died a few minutes after drinking the stuff.
The incident took place Monday evening, writes, among other things Progress. Some travelers told employees of the railway company that they had found a suspicious bag at the station. There were several water bottles in that bag.
One of the employees present then decided to taste the mysterious drinking bottles, after which he, according to the Belgian VRT soon convulsed and began to vomit. The man was dead before the ambulances arrived. Ambulance personnel attempted to resuscitate the man.
The public prosecutor of Saint-Étienne confirms that it has launched an investigation into the incident. An autopsy must determine the exact cause of death. The police are also trying to find out who left the liquids at the station via camera images. No one has been arrested yet.
