A position as an employee (m / f / d) for International Science Communication and Marketing (EntgGr. 13 TV-L, 75%) must be filled as soon as possible in the Department for Communication and Marketing at Leibniz Universität Hannover. The position is initially limited to three years.
The Department for Communication and Marketing, as the President’s department, is responsible for the communication strategy / central communication concept and the issues of external and internal communication at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH). This includes strategic and conceptual communication processes, press and public relations, the university’s website, corporate design, merchandising with its own shop, internal communication formats and science communication (Science Communication LAB). Science communication at the university is to be strengthened and addressed more internationally in order to strengthen the international visibility of the LUH.
tasks
The task is to identify, bundle and structure international research communication and marketing measures at the LUH and to show internal synergies. Together with the science communication and interfaces team at the university, a holistic concept and creative ideas for marketing LUH research and the research location in the international arena are being developed and implemented. The aim is to achieve a sustainable strengthening of the visibility of the LUH and its location abroad and to promote awareness of the importance of international research communication within the institution.
Particularly central is:
- To increase the visibility and attractiveness of the LUH’s research abroad, in particular the strategic research priorities and research topics and other central research networks
- To increase the visibility of individual LUH researchers abroad, especially women researchers
- To strengthen collaboration with researchers and to develop offers for communicative support and identification of suitable outreach and science communication projects for their respective research
- Establish advanced training in international science communication as part of the Science Communication LAB for scientists
- Developing the necessary international print products and communication media
- To promote the implementation of transfer formats / formats of science communication with international partners (Science Slam etc.)
- To get involved in the European University project
- The media preparation of research topics, including the editing of blogs and posts on social media platforms, to be implemented internationally
Employment requirements
You have:
- a completed scientific university degree (university diploma or master’s), preferably in communication sciences or a comparable subject (diploma or master’s) with further qualifications in communication / marketing
- Relevant experience in the field of science communication, coupled with experience in the international field
- relevant experience in project management
- pronounced knowledge of current university research and its presentation; good feeling for the preparation of content for different target groups (in international space)
- conceptual understanding
- Experience in planning, coordinating and managing (third-party) projects
- Experience in the conception and implementation of dialogue formats and events
- Relevant and reliable experience in social media communication and in the creation of content (text, images, preferably also video)
- very good written and spoken English and IT skills
- high communication and persuasive skills
- an independent, timely and structured way of working
- high resilience and flexibility
- strong team spirit
