That Randstad The job barometer for the first half of 2022 shows a frightening development: A full 67 percent of the employees surveyed stated that they were ready to take on a new job within the next six months. Job security is an important factor for 92 percent of those surveyed. But dissatisfaction with the current job seems to prevail – and not without reason.
The wishes of the employees do not correspond to reality
The job barometer shows that for 92 percent of those surveyed, salary is an important factor when choosing a job – as is work-life balance (85 percent). Flexibility in terms of location (63 percent), but above all in terms of working hours (79 percent), is also important to employees.

The values for satisfaction with flexibility in working hours (58 percent) and location (45 percent) can also be improved. dr Carolin HerbstGroup Director Human Resources at Randstad, advises companies to take employee needs seriously:
After the corona pandemic, many people reconsidered their work and life plans and their priorities and reoriented themselves. If employers do not take the wishes of their employees seriously, sooner or later they will change jobs.

Only 20 percent also state that they have more flexible working hours than a year ago. 27 percent of those surveyed have greater flexibility in relation to their workplace. Instead of just talking about the shortage of skilled workers, companies must specifically address these issues, explains Herbst. A company must become aware of its strengths and weaknesses in order to be able to improve employee loyalty and employer attractiveness in a targeted manner.
Two studies recently commissioned by Xing also show that changing jobs is an option for more and more people. Employees often even resign without having a new job in sight. One way to counteract this development is job crafting. Employees adapt the job to their own needs together with HR managers and managers.
