An employee of a specialized company deceived for six years that security was being secured in an apartment in Ruse by collecting the money for the due fees. He thus damaged the owner of the property, who lived in the Netherlands at the time, with BGN 3,008, the Judicial Chamber in the Danube town announced, BTA reported.
The woman owned a house and in 2012 asked her nephew to find a company to guard the property through security.
The young man visited the office of a company, where he met VA working there. The employee placed security equipment in the apartment, for which he drew up a report and a contract.
Thus, until December 2018, the nephew paid the defendant a monthly fee of 20 euros for the service. The money was sent by the owner of the apartment.
When the woman returned to Bulgaria, she went to the company’s office to pay the next fee. Then she realized that her home was not among the guarded sites. Separately, the employee in question has not worked for the company since 2017.
The man was convicted of fraud and received a suspended sentence of 18 months in prison with three years probation.
The sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court of Cassation and is final.
