During an interview with AND! New, Alicia’s keys she was asked if she e Jay Z would do another collaboration as ‘Empire State of Mind’. The singer admitted that she was hesitant due to her huge success.
In 2009, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s “Empire State Of Mind” scored the first HOV No. 1, which not only had the billboard charts in a chokehold, but snatched the crown for best-selling single.
Fast forward to 2022, the “Girl On Fire” singer recently sat down for an interview with AND! Newwhere she was asked if she and Jigga would make another collaboration as their iconic New York anthem.
Alicia admitted that she and Jay have considered working on new songs together countless times. However, the two immediately become hesitant after considering how well “Empire State of Mind” did in the charts. “There is no top!” she exclaimed.
Despite the hesitation, she also added that she was open to another collaboration with Jay-Z, who she also called her “brother.”
Speaking of HOV, the rapper from Louisiana Boosie rubbed OG fans the wrong way when he said that recently Jay Z it is irrelevant in today’s music. He also adds that the younger generation doesn’t listen to Jigga in clubs.
