One of the most iconic buildings in the world turns 92.
The Empire State Building opened its doors to the public on May 1, 1931, the tallest skyscraper in the world at the time.

Since its inauguration, millions of people have climbed to the top of the building.
Many consider it not just a New York City icon, but a symbol of America.
Various entities have ‘greeted’ the building on its 92nd anniversary.

New York City also posted a social media message about the building’s anniversary.
“The tallest building in the world until the 1970s, the Empire State Building remains a New York City icon.
