Kim Yo-jong launched bitter verbal attacks on the South Korean president, branding him a parrot raised by the United States (US). He stated that Moon Jae-in’s statement was illogical and insolent and almost synonymous with the US attitude.
“We can hardly contain his astonishment at his helplessness,” Kim Yo-jong said in a statement carried by North Korean state media.
“He could not feel sorry for being ‘praised’ as a parrot raised by America,” he was quoted as saying Russia Today, Tuesday (30/3/2021).
Kim Yo-jong’s verbal attacks were immediately condemned by Seoul, with South Korea’s Unification Ministry expressing “strong regret” at the remarks and urging North Korea to be polite.
“Both Koreas must adhere to minimum etiquette rules under any circumstances,” the ministry said.
The new row between the two neighboring countries follows a series of missile launches carried out by Pyongyang last week. North Korea fired two projectiles suspected of being cruise missiles, followed by the launch of two short-range ballistic projectiles in just a few days.
