Emotional vaccination appeal from Charité employees – BZ Berlin

The corona numbers are increasing at an alarming rate. An emotional appeal for vaccinations has now come from the Charité staff.

In a more than two-minute video on Twitter, doctors and nurses report on their tough everyday lives in the pandemic.

“Winter 2021/21 was the hardest time for all of us because we have never seen so much suffering and tragic individual fates before,” says intensive care doctor Sarah Nadine Kamel. “The exhaustion can still be felt, the summer was not enough for relaxation.”

“Then the vaccination came and we had great hope that it would be over. And now not all of them get vaccinated, even though it would be so important, ”says intensive care nurse Nadine Hobuß, sad and stunned.

Kamel says about the intensive care unit: “The way to here and out of here is a hard, long fight back into your own life.”

Saturday incidence rose above 300 for the first time

The coronavirus is spreading even more. In Berlin, the seven-day incidence rose above the 300 mark to 300.2 for the first time, according to the management report of the Senate Health Administration on Saturday. The number indicates how many detected infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in the past seven days. A week ago the value was 199.1.

The health authorities reported 2149 new infections within one day. That is slightly fewer infections than the day before (2184) and more than on Saturday a week ago (1675). Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 242,330 people have been proven to have been infected with the corona virus in Berlin.
