Emotional Farewell Video: Marc Marquez’s Last Ride with Honda

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) released a emotional video of farewell to Marc Marquez. The 8-time world champion couldn’t control his tears.

Marquez separated from Honda after being in a relationship for 11 years. During that period, The Baby Alien and Honda dominated MotoGP by producing six world championship titles.

The Japanese manufacturer has experienced difficulties over the last four seasons which has made Marquez choose to leave. Next season Marc will defend the Gresini Racing Ducati satellite team.

HRC wants to pay tribute to its most successful racer with an emotional video showing them reliving the 2023 Valencia Grand Prix weekend, Marc Marquez’s final week with Honda.

The video is entitled Sashimi Marc Marquez’s Last Ride. A small documentary full of emotion where words are almost meaningless compared to the faces, gestures and situations experienced by the members of Marc’s team.

The video shows the various stages and preparations they made in Marc’s farewell box in Valencia. First, Marquez’s arrival at the ‘motorhome’, the staff was waiting for him.

Then his journey through the pits before hitting the track on Friday, practice before qualifying, the race to the sprint… It’s all tinged with a dramatic touch.

A very special sprint race that served as an early farewell to the 93. There he completed an almost perfect Saturday. He finished third after battling Maverick Vinales, Brad Binder and Jorge Martín.

And in celebration, a truly emotional start. Not only for Marc, but for all his team members, even his relatives such as his girlfriend or mother who were there.

The final celebration that united the team was about Honda’s ‘hospitality’, where the entire staff of the Japanese brand was waiting for him. Marc watched the presentation where the members closest to 93 bid him farewell as they surrounded him.

“Best wishes for next year, I want to see your smile back, you have to smile, I like your smile, thank you very much, I will miss you,” said Repsol Honda Crew Chief, Santi Hernandez.

The Japanese manufacturer made Marc taste his last ‘sashimi’, dedicating a few words to Marc Marquez before he left for the Gresini Racing box the following day.

“I want to thank all of you, my family, my team and thank you very much to Alberto,” said Marc, covered in tears and applause.
