Emmy Awards Strip Former New York Governor Cuomo His Prestigious Prize | show

Cuomo received the prestigious television award for his television performances at the start of the corona pandemic. While then-U.S. President Donald Trump confused with conflicting messages and long denied the seriousness of the situation, Cuomo spoke plainly from the start and clearly explained the difficult decisions he was making to the residents of his state. This made Cuomo so popular that he was even mentioned as a possible presidential candidate.

However, early this month, after years of rumors and accusations, a New York State Attorney’s Office investigation revealed that Cuomo, who has been elected three times since 2010, sexually assaulted 11 women between 2013 and 2020. These included sexual harassment, unwanted and inappropriate groping, kissing and hugging, and comments that alleged victims called “deeply humiliating, uncomfortable, offensive or inappropriate.”

Cuomo initially denied doing anything wrong, but later admitted making mistakes. “But I never intended to disrespect a woman,” he added. His successor Kathy Hochul has since been sworn in. She is the first female governor of New York State.
