Emmi swallows French dessert company | centralplus

The Emmi Group swallows a French dessert company: the Mademoiselle Desserts Group. The takeover is intended to give Emmi a global leadership role. The purchase price amounts to around 900 million euros.

As part of its internationalization strategy, the Emmi Group has completed the acquisition of the French dessert company Mademoiselle Desserts, Emmi announced. Through the takeover, the Lucerne-based company would like to expand into the niche market of premium desserts and aim for a global leadership position.

Emmi is spending a lot of money on the takeover: the agreed purchase price for the French company is around 900 million euros. Through the acquisition, the Emmi Group could double its sales from the niche market of premium desserts. In 2023, the Mademoiselle Desserts group is said to have generated around 420 million euros.

Management of Emmi’s dessert business will be transferred to French hands. According to the announcement, Didier Boudy, managing director of Mademoiselle Desserts, will take responsibility for the desserts from Emmi. In addition to the new French dessert company, he will also have the Emmi dessert companies from Italy and the USA under his control in the future.

In addition to his new role as CEO of Emmi’s dessert business, Boudy has been president of the French Bakery-Patisserie Association since 2021.
