On Wednesday evening, 64 journeymen from 44 training companies were released from the duties that had arisen from the training contract by the Emmendingen district craftsmen’s association and jointly acquitted as journeymen by district master craftsman Martin Schubnell.
The next generation of craftsmen then received their journeyman’s certificate and the bright red “Journey’s Scarf 2022”.
Greetings during the acquittal were delivered by Chamber of Commerce President Johannes Ullrich, District Administrator Hanno Hurth and Emmendingen’s Mayor Deputy Joachim Saar.
Among the guests were representatives of the partners of the Chamber of Crafts, IKK classic, Signal Iduna, Volksbank Breisgau Nord and Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau as well as the member of the Bundestag Dr. Johannes Fechner (SPD) and Yannick Bury (CDU). Teachers, parents and friends were also there.
The supporting program was designed by the ballet studio Ute Anna from Waldkirch. There was a lot of applause for the two performances (jazz dance, modern dance) of the 28 dancers.

“The best way to prevent a shortage of skilled workers is to train skilled workers,” said the district administrator, and Martin Schubnell, Joachim Saar and President Johannes Ullrich also underlined the many opportunities in the skilled trades in their welcoming speeches. The mere fact that the federal government intends to build 400,000 new homes per year shows that the skilled trades, as the “economic power next door”, will continue to be of great importance in the future. The training and further education opportunities with their globally recognized technical content promise committed young craftsmen a bright future with diverse perspectives. “I am sure that we will see many of you again at the master school!” said President Ullrich.
But here, too, “no pain, no gain” applies.
Climate change, technical developments, pandemic and the effects of the war in Ukraine were other points that were highlighted in the speeches. The hope of social commitment in associations or clubs was also addressed.
Afterwards, the reason for the acquittal was celebrated accordingly and here the young craftsmen proved that they are also well prepared for this area.
