Emmendingen.
It had been planned since 2020 that the Emmendingen fire department would hold the event. Due to Corona, it was not possible to hold it and, even recently in 2022, the risk was still too great for those responsible to hold the event, as the health protection of the older members of the fire brigades and their wives was the priority.
More than 450 senior citizens from our fire departments in the district and beyond attended the event and enjoyed a colorful mix put together by the Emmendingen fire department
entertaining program led by moderator Felix Danberg.
The Stadtmusik Emmendingen opened the seniors’ afternoon musically and then played several pieces of music including the Badener Lied, in which not only the instrumental tones were played, but the guests also sang along.
Another musical highlight was the appearance of the Hachberg Heralds, who marched into the hall and then played a few pieces on stage.
The dance shows from the Scuare Dance Club Emmendingen and the Happy Dance Group Emmendingen rounded off the program with their performances and created a great atmosphere in the
Halle.
Between the individual appearances there were greetings and short speeches from the chairman of the Emmendingen district fire brigade association Nico Zimmermann, district administrator Hannoh Hurth and Emmendingen’s mayor Stefan Schlatterer. MDB Johannes Fechner also spoke on behalf of MDB Jannick Bury on behalf of the federal political side.
Pastor Herbert Rochlitz also contributed a few words to the event and supported this with a musical standup.
In addition to coffee and cake from a very extensive cake counter, guests were also able to buy tickets for prizes for the raffle. In addition to 16 political educational trips to Berlin, which were sponsored by the two Bundestag members Johannes Fechner and Yannick Bury, there were also numerous prizes such as televisions, household appliances and an electric chainsaw to be won. Overall the raffle was
filled with well over 1,000 prizes.
Our senior citizens and guests sat together until late in the evening and were happy to meet old colleagues from the district and enjoyed the get-together.
A special thank you goes to the Volksbank Nördlicher Breisgau eV and the Sparkasse Freiburg Nördlicher Breisgau for their generous support of our event for the senior citizens
Seniors from the district’s volunteer fire departments, who did their best to protect the residents of the Emmendingen district over many decades.
