To be a princess for once: Despite the corona pandemic, this wish can finally come true for a woman from Breisgau. The Baden Winegrowers’ Association, together with Weinland Breisgau, is looking for the new Breisgau Wine Princess. For one year, the new wine ambassador can then represent the Breisgau wine region, the winegrowers and their wines. But wine ambassadors are also still being sought for Baden. The office of Baden Wine Queen and her two wine princesses is also still available.
“A very special year in office lies ahead of the new wine ambassador for Breisgau,” emphasizes Isabella Weidler, Managing Director of Breisgauer Wein GmbH. A lot has changed in the last two years. “We are looking for a modern and active “wine fluencer” for the entire Breisgau region, an emancipated, open-minded and fun-loving young woman.” Tradition and modernity should unite and whet the appetite for the region and its wines.
In order to clarify initial questions without obligation, the Baden Winegrowers’ Association “in Hybrid” is organizing an information evening on April 12, 2022 at 7 p.m. If you are unable to attend this appointment in person at the Badischer Weinbauverband eV, Merzhauser Str. 115 in 79100 Freiburg, you are welcome to request the access link via [email protected]. Of course, participation is not automatically linked to an application. The incumbent Baden wine sovereigns will also be there, telling stories from personal experiences and available to answer any questions.
In principle, anyone who is at least 18 years old on the day of the election, has a driver’s license, loves their homeland and is interested in wine can apply for the office of Breisgau Wine Princess or Baden Wine Queen. Training with a viticultural background is not required. As a Breisgau wine princess, the place of residence must be in the Breisgau wine region (Freiburg to Oberschopfheim).
The election for the Breisgau Wine Princess takes place the day before the opening of the Breisgau Wine Festival, on August 18th.
