Emmen goalie Telgenkamp does not request a resignation and remains on the Oude Meerdijk

FC Emmen goalkeeper Dennis Telgenkamp has decided to stick it to the Oude Meerdijk for another year. The 33-year-old Tukker is in possession of an expiring contract, which, however, was not canceled before April 1 by FC Emmen.

As a result, Telgenkamp had until 15 May to choose from two options: apply for a formal resignation yourself or extend his contract while retaining the same employment conditions. “I am really enjoying myself at FC Emmen and that ultimately was the deciding factor,” explains the closing post against RTV Drenthe his decision to choose the second option.

The goalkeeper is facing his sixth season at FC Emmen: after the promotion in 2018, he had to make way for Kjell Scherpen, but this season Telgenkamp had his solid spot under the bar and played all 27 official games from start to finish. “A season like the previous season definitely tastes like more,” he says. He is not thinking about a transfer for the time being. “There was something going on. But especially because of the corona crisis, it all became a bit more vague.”

The Telgenkamp news is a stroke of luck for FC Emmen, which has not yet attracted new players for the coming season. Michaël Heylen just left and will continue his career at Sparta. Jafar Arias has also left Oude Meerdijk: VVV-Venlo is likely to become his new employer.
