Emmen had not lost the past five games and clearly did not intend to do that against RKC. The home team shot off with opportunities for Kerim Frei and Michael de Leeuw.
RKC did nothing with the warning and let Emmen create chance after chance. After captain De Leeuw shot wild and high over, it was Nick Bakker who gave the team a well-deserved lead after ten minutes.
RKC lends a hand
After the 1-0, Emmen happily continued to attack. RKC lend a hand. Vurnon Anita gave away a penalty by walking De Leeuw on his heels. Sergio Peña initially shot goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou, but scored in the rebound.
Just before that, Luka Adzic had also scored a goal, after fumbling in the back at RKC.
