This Thursday thanks to your 3-1 victory against Thalès, Bordeaux Deals became champion of D1 football company and puts an end to the domination of the last 20 years of CHR and Sécucaf. How do you live this title?
A little tired today after the crazy night that followed this game! But very proud to succeed these two great teams of Aquitaine and French company football. We did it ! So for now, we’re savoring it. And then we will quickly get back to work to prepare for the cuts that are coming but also next season.
It’s been your wish for a long time, the dream has finally come true?
Indeed I had been thinking about it for 8 years now and the creation of the Fc Opéra national de Bordeaux. Today it is taking shape with Bordeaux.Deals and it allows me to have won all the company titles in the Gironde and Aquitaine cups and championships. But it is above all a big thought for all those who have gone through these years. And then also a huge thank you and congratulations to all those who work for the club today. Players, staff, partners and our supporters and friends who are more and more numerous to follow us.
What allowed you to achieve the feat of being the first team to win the title and to bring down this domination?
A big solidarity and trust between all the members of the club. A very beautiful friendship too. We were able to turn our backs with a few matches where we had around fifteen injured people to let nothing or very little go. This allowed us to always be present for the final sprint. And there, the group was brilliant, both in the game and the state of mind, they put everything in place to get this title that we had promised ourselves last August. For us, it was an exciting championship with strong opponents every time. Really a championship of excellent level, very homogeneous with a lot of close matches. This makes us even prouder. On our side, we are living an extraordinary adventure with Bx.Deals and all the guys are aware of it and want to live it fully, until the end.
Besides that, you will also play the final of the Coupe de Gironde Foot entreprise against Nobi Nobi which will be played on the weekend of Pentecost and a quarter-final of the Coupe Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which will be played on May 25?
These cuts are part of this adventure with a penchant for that of Gironde obviously. Either way, we’ll be ready for both. Title taken, return of the injured, big desire, there is only pleasure to be had. We can be counted on.
The only regret of the season remains the national cup?
Yes indeed it is the scar of the season. But it partially closed last night. And I prefer to end on a positive note and thank the exceptional group that I have the chance to manage for all these crazy moments that they give us, and that we will still have.
