Emmanuel is one of the most internationally prestigious artists who retains the same energy of the 80s and 90s. With millions of sales of his 19 albums, and numerous awards and recognitions, Emmanuel is a Mexican artist considered by many to be the king of Latin pop, who has managed to leave a deep mark on the history of Spanish-speaking music throughout his 40-year career.
Jesús Emmanuel Arturo Acha Martínez, Emmanuel’s given name, developed an artistic personality and unmistakable style thanks to the album “Íntimamente” (1980), the best-selling album in Mexico with more than 5 million copies sold. Later, he released the albums “Tú y yo” (1981), “En la soledad” (1983), “Emmanuel” (1984) and “Desnudo” (1986), in which he had great international hits such as: “Todo se derrumbó”, “Pobre diablo” and “Toda la vida”, which have been considered classics of the Spanish-speaking romantic pop ballad.

He is one of the Latin American artists who opened the American market, as he achieved popularity and success in that country singing in Spanish. He is also credited with being the first Spanish-speaking singer to record a music video in the 1980s that was not limited to watching the artist sing, but had a story in images.
Curiously, Emmanuel, who also dances and has unique choreographies, hence why he is called a showman on stage, never took dance classes. In fact, in an interview he confessed that he was always embarrassed to dance at family celebrations since he was a child. He attributes his skill and histrionics to what he left behind from bullfighting, which he practiced for years and learned from his father, the bullfighter Raúl Rivira Acha. He dreamed of being a bullfighter, but a goring left him out of the ring and launched him into music. His mother was the Spanish dancer Conchita Martínez. He also did not take singing classes.
