It’s Saturday Every time we meet’ youngest participant – Emma Steinbakken (19) – who sits at the end of the table and allows himself to be honored by the much older artists on Kjerringøy.

Back in 2017, Steinbakken was discovered when she had the title role in the musical Annie in Ullensaker cultural center. The following year, the breakthrough came with the single “Not Gonna Cry”, which later garnered more than 22 million plays on Spotify.
The star shot was soon on “everyone’s” lips, and was nominated as Newcomer of the Year under P3 Gold in 2019. At this time, she made her EP debut with “Emma Steinbakken”, and also had her first, major performance at By:larm.
Foreign countries also wanted a piece of her, and the artist got a record deal in Germany and the USA.
In 2020 came “Stay With Me”, known from the Netflix series Hjem til jul, and also the hit song “WOW”, which she did together with Matoma.
The success was further reinforced when Steinbakken ravaged the top charts with “Jeg oguleer deg aldi” from the NRK hit Rådebank the following year. A short time later, the singer was nominated for the Spellemannsprisen for Song of the Year.
The pop comet also had the closing track “Not You” on Alan Walker’s album “World of Walker”.
