CHOOSE FIVE. After the incident with Emma Ribom, Sweden was mocked by Kristine Stavå’s Skistad.
Something that was not appreciated by Linn Svahn.
– I think it’s disrespectful, she says.
Emma Ribom had her sprint in Davos ruined after a controversial incident with Norwegian Kristine Stavås Skistad. An upset Ribom thought she was overrun, and was backed up by the Swedish coaches who tried to discuss the matter with the jury.
Afterwards, Skistad chose to send a sour pass to Sweden.
“Home and train. While the Swedes stay in the jury room”she signed Instagram.
Something that Linn Svahn did not appreciate.
“You have to have a lot of respect”
– I think it’s disrespectful. If a rider has a day ruined after an incident, then I think you should have a lot of respect in what you say afterwards, says Svahn and continues:
– I find it very difficult to see that Emma, in the situation she was in, before the riot, should fall if nothing happens. That’s how well I know Emma and that’s how good I know she is. I know firsthand what it’s like to walk into a riot. It takes a lot for you to sit on your butt if nothing happens.
“There’s a lot of Kristine about it”
Frida Karlsson also commented on the post, which she was not completely surprised by.
– There is a lot of Kristine about it. She seems to want to be out on social media and swing a bit, she says.
Emma Ribom herself tries not to put too much energy into Skistad.
– In a way, I’m not surprised because we’ve seen it before. But I also feel that it must stand for her. I think she is aware that she is rubbing salt in the wounds, but at the same time I don’t really care. She can post exactly what she wants. Maybe I wouldn’t have done that myself, says Ribom.
Skistad has finished the Tour de Ski and returned home, while Ribom and Svahn are getting ready for the final two stages in Val di Fiemme this weekend.
