EAfter a slow start with a number of setbacks in the form of non-delivery and temporary interruptions to investigate side effects, mass vaccination in Sweden has picked up speed. At present, 80 percent of everyone over the age of 65 has received at least one vaccine dose.
Danish politicians agreed in March about opening up society when everyone over the age of 50 has been vaccinated, but there is no similar plan in Sweden. In a statement, referring to the government’s assignment to the Public Health Agency to produce a plan for when it is time to adjust, ease or lift the restrictions, Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren recently said that Sweden “can not fully return to the society we had before February 2020”.
