He pointed out that “most of the negative effects of climate change are suffered by poor and low-income societies around the world, especially since there are more than 50 developing countries in the world that are not responsible for more than 1% of greenhouse gas emissions, and therefore it has become an urgent need.” Switch to clean energy and make possible efforts to stop global warming.
“The COP 28 conference, which will be held in the UAE on November 17, 2023, will be a real opportunity to overcome all the obstacles and challenges facing the world in proposing firm and definitive solutions to pose this danger,” he stated, underlining the importance of the role of parliaments in tackling this phenomenon, which requires speeding up the preparation of a legislative study necessary for each country, in accordance with its constitutional and legal requirements, to switch to the use of clean and renewable energy and urge governments to achieve the provisions of the Paris Agreement, and what was achieved at the COP 27 climate summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh, underlining the importance of the role of parliamentary control over government policies and strategies in this regard.

The session “Overcoming obstacles and the digital divide, the contribution of logistics and artificial intelligence” was also attended by Dr. Hind Hamid Al-Alayli, member of the Federal National Council, Vice-President of the Parliamentary Division of the Council in the Mediterranean Parliament, and trade and investment facilitation measures”, in the context of the work of the Parliamentary Economic Forum of Marrakech for the Eurozone, the Mediterranean and the Gulf held in the Kingdom of Morocco.
